Like fake-tans, I have tried and tested the crème de la crème of foundations. Over the years I have gone through a multiple of brands but ALWAYS come back to my old reliable; MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation.
Studio Fix is a modern foundation that combines a natural matte finish and medium – buildable coverage. Because the coverage is buildable, you can use it both day and night, from a lighter, natural day-time look to a heavier, flawless night-time look. Studio Fix is comfortable and long-wearing, lasting up to eight hours. It applies smoothly and covers imperfections. It is oil free and also absorbs oil which is good for those with more oily skin. I wear shade NC25 but it is available in a huge range of colours (30 shades), to suit every skin tone.
Unlike other good-coverage foundations, Studio Fix is not just easy to apply, but easy to remove too, which is a big plus! Estée Lauder Double Wear was an old favourite of mine as it gave great coverage, but was a little too heavy duty and the removal process was tiresome!
For the ultimate flawless finish, I apply Studio Fix with MAC’s Duo Fibre Face Brush (commonly known as the stipple brush). The brush makes foundation application quick, simple and gives a flawless finish that no makeup sponge or flat foundation brush could achieve. It also means that you use a minimal amount of Studio Fix per application as the stipple brush wastes nothing, unlike sponges which absorb the foundation as you apply! The brush is available in Brown Thomas and BT2 stores nationwide €43.50.
MAC is endorsed by Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, if it’s good enough for them…!
If you’re looking for good coverage, shine-free, easy to remove, flawless foundation, I highly recommend MAC Studio Fix! Available in Brown Thomas and BT2 stores nationwide. €35 per 30ml bottle.
