Transform yourself into a Femme Fatale!

Jean Paul Gaultier, a French haute couture fashion designer, launched himself into the fragrance world in 1993. It was a pivotal year for Gaultier as his very first perfume was born. It was named Jean Paul Gaultier Classique.

True to form, Gaultier ensured that the fragrance mirrored his fashion designs, representing a woman who is definitively liberated and incredibly confident. The voluptuous, female body-shaped bottle is now one of the most recognised fragrances there is. The metal corset in which the perfume bottle is encased, triggers the mind to reminisce of some of Gaultier’s most well-known fashion extravaganzas… Think Madonna circa 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour in her iconic conical corset costume, an image which has now become synonymous with the superstar. Once again in 2012, Gaultier will be designing Madonna’s MDNA tour costumes.

Gaultier has been strongly present during the past three decades in the fashion world, and more often than not he has been a forerunner in reinventing and echoing the ever-changing face of women in society. His fragrance is no exception to this. Through his fashion and fragrance, Gaultier achieves the art of making women look and feel sexy, strong and powerful while provoking desire in others at the same time.

I’m sure you’re wondering what scent this incredible designer has created to embody the vision he has of the female species. I would describe Classique as magnetic, powerful and seductive. Here’s the description from the man himself… “A contrasting fragrance featuring sensual, ultra-feminine notes… Top notes offer the tenderness of rose played up with the freshness of star anise. In the middle notes, the spicy sweetness of orange blossom is combined with the aphrodisiac notes of ginger. Base notes feature the caressing sensuality of vanilla and amber wood.” Of course that is the fragrance in words, to smell it is to love it!
